The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Ignatius Baffuor Awuah has introduced that the every day minimal wage will rise to GH¢14.88 in 2023.

The Minister stated at a press convention in Accra on Wednesday November 16 that, the nationwide tripartite committee concluded the negotiations and “we predict that is the most effective time to speak to Ghanaians on the end result of the negotiations.”

The committee, he stated, took under consideration the present financial challenges, value of residing, sustainability of companies and desirability of accomplishing increased ranges of employment.

“The committee concluded on the necessity to improve the nationwide every day minimal wage by 10 per cent over the 2022 nationwide every day minimal wage which interprets into new nationwide every day minimal wage of GH¢14.88 pesewas and a price of residing allowance of 15 per cent over the 2023 nationwide every day minimal wage.

“The efficient date for the implementation of the 2023 nationwide every day minimal wage shall be 1st January 2023.
