Chidinma voluntarily wrote that she murdered Ataga, Police insist  %Post Title

A prosecution witness, ASP Olufunke Madeyinlo, on Tuesday testified that Chidinma Ojukwu, the alleged homicide suspect of the Chief Government Officer of Tremendous TV, Usifo Ataga, wrote her assertion voluntarily.

Madeyinlo made the assertion whereas testifying because the second prosecution witness within the trial inside trial to establish whether or not Ojukwu was coerced or induced to make an announcement that she killed Ataga by herself.

Ojukwu, a 300-level Mass Communication undergraduate of the College of Lagos, is standing trial for the alleged homicide of Ataga.

She can be charged with stealing and forgery alongside one Adedapo Quadri and her sister, Chioma Egbuchu.

The Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) reviews that Ojukwu’s counsel, Mr Onwuka Egwu, had objected to the admissibility of the defendant’s assertion.

He mentioned that the defendant didn’t make the statements voluntarily which made the courtroom to enter trial inside trial to establish the voluntariness of the defendant’s assertion.

On the resumed listening to, the Deputy Director of Prosecution, Mrs Adenike Oluwafemi, referred to as her second witness for the continuation of trial inside trial.

Nevertheless, the primary defendant’s counsel, Mr Onwuka Egwu, introduced his look, whereas the second defendant’s counsel, Mr Babatunde Busari, in addition to the third defendant’s counsel, Mrs F.O. Ilesanmi, additionally introduced their look.

Throughout cross-examination by Ojukwu’s counsel, the witness mentioned that she shared her workplace with three different officers, ASP Gbolahon Jemiyo, ASP Gbola Alabi, and Insp. Kolawole Lukman.

When requested if it was after Jemiyo had assaulted the primary defendant that her assertion was taken, the witness mentioned that she was within the workplace with solely Alabi when the defendant wrote her assertion.

Requested if she interacted with Ojukwu whereas she was writing her assertion, Madeyinlo answered within the affirmative.

“I didn’t ask her any questions, she wrote her assertion herself. The one query I requested her was if she was happy with the assertion she wrote.

“She answered sure, then I requested her to signal it,” the witness mentioned.

Egwu requested the witness if she gave a 10-year-old lady wrapper to cowl herself within the evening, on June 23 and 24, 2021.

The witness mentioned that she couldn’t keep in mind as a result of the incident occurred a very long time in the past.

Requested if she knew what occurred to the assertion the primary defendant made on June 24, 2021, she mentioned no.
