Suleman Lawal alias Ariku, a Nationwide Union of Street Transport Employees (NURTW) chief in Mile 12, Lagos, was killed on Sunday, August 28, after violence erupted within the space.

In response to The Nation, the violence was brought on by a lingering rivalry between the Aiye and Eiye cult teams.

In response to police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident:

“The command is conscious of the violent clashes happening within the state’s Owode-Elede space.” DPO Owode-Onirin is in command of the state of affairs. Reinforcement is on the best way. We’re keeping track of issues.”
